Week 1 progress
The first week of sprint 1 I found was both extremely stressful, as most of my class would agree. This was the first time me and my class had been assigned to work together as an entire class rather than sperate groups, so we all found it hard at first to sort each other into different departments and roles. Me and my class also struggled to settle on a basic idea of what our game project would be and what we should (as departments) work on first. We originally settled on an idea that left half of our class unsatisfied, so I and a few others decided to go to our project leader and tutor Rob to request that we re-think the idea for the project; and so we did, this time we were all satisfied. For the project, I was assigned as a lead concept artist, meaning that as well as doing concepts I had to supervise other concepts artists and direct any requests from the 3D modellers if I was occupied with any other requests. As my first time being supervisor as well as working as a single entity I think that I performed very well, although admittedly I did find it stressful.
Below I have included evidence photos and screenshots of my week 1 progress. For the first week of sprint 1 I was assigned to developing concept art for the main protagonist that would be used in our game project, examples of the concept art for the main protagonist are depicted below. I initially started to design the character concepts during the briefing of our game project in order to start producing ideas to be suggested to be used in the project. The character was first drawn within my sketchbook traditionally, and then later on I scanned the drawing onto my PC so that I would be able to digitally line and colour it in Adobe Photoshop. My class liked this design for the main protagonist so much that the majority decided we must use this as the main character in the game, so I only needed to produce one concept for the main character. For the protagonist concepts I have also included the series of T-Pose sketches that Rob had me prepare for our classes’ lead 3D modeller Richard Bloxham so that he could produce a low-poly character model.
Our project leader Rob assigned me the task of designing some buildings that would be used on the starter planet in the game, so I created a few quick thumbnail sketches of building ideas that could be used within the planet. These sketches will be narrowed down so that I can design some final concepts for the buildings to be used in the game.
As we discussed ides for the game project, we suggested that the main character would have to have a starting area so that he could then uses as a means to get from area to area within the game. At first we discussed the idea of having a space ship as the central hub of the game, although we settled on the Idea of having a space station. Origonally, one of the concept artists Olivia was assigned to the task of developing concepts for the space station, however she became sick so I took on the task of developing the concepts for the space station. The concept that would be modeled was the pyramid styled space station, which was sent of to Regan who specialises in 3D modelling.

Scrum Meeting Documentation
During the first week of sprint 1, we discussed what our class was going to do and what needed doing. During this first week most of the work relied on the concept artists, so our class told us what concepts for the modellers we had to create.
Problems I Encountered
I encountered quite a lot of stress during the first week of sprint one, mainly because I had to decide what style the project would go for and I also had to supervise other concept artist to make sure the artwork they were producing was within the boundaries of the game art style. One of the main problems I encountered was when the modelling team requested some space station concepts from one of the concepts artists Olivia, but she was at the time ill so I had to take on the task.
