Week 4
24/06/20
Over the course of this weekend, me and Michael have worked closely together to produce the tutorial level, below will be some footage that was recorded of our tutorial level and uploaded to YouTube. I had produced some concept art over the weekend as well for the tutorial level.
Today I was to work on animating a rat npc for the tutorial area which would act as a hostile threat to the player. Since I have not animated in quite some time I found this difficult at first, however as I kept pushing forward I found the process to be getting easier and easier. I set up key frames and will spend the day tomorrow texturing and refining the animation. I have taken up animation because Olivia is unable to do it as her laptop and IPad are broken so she no longer has access to the software to animate.
With and update on the piece of artwork I had created for Dominic Doyle’s team, Connor Seddon one of their team’s 3D modelers added my artwork to a picture frame model he created. Later on it was placed in their Unreal Engine project by Dominic.

Today is the last day to work on our project fully before the deadline hand in tomorrow. Continuing on from yesterday I have persisted working on the rat model animation and should have it fully refined and ready to be exported by this afternoon. After I have forwarded the run animation, I will aim to start an idle animation for the rat model – this shouldn’t be too long of a process to complete, and should be ready to hand in by tomorrow. Throughout the rest of the day I have also been working on adding in tags to my WordPress blog.

With the deadline approaching, me and my team only have a few hours left to work on the project before we have to submit it for hand in. Before the project is submitted I will finish off the rat idle animation for and have it exported so that Michael can use it within Unreal Engine. Below I will include some footage of the level that was presented to our tutor Rob.
