The Untitled Goose Game was released on the 20th of September 2019. The is a mischief/stealth puzzle orientated game which involves the player running around levels performing tasks and completing quests that are given to them via a to do list – the quests can range from collecting items from a shop to stealing items of clothing from the NPC in the world. Each of the tasks given to the player provide a challenge and gradually get tougher as you progress; tasks are solved like puzzles because of the obstacles placed throughout the levels in order to disrupt and make the player think about how to solve each task. The game was created and developed by a company called House House, and was released by a publisher called Panic. The game is supported on two platforms, PC (Windows, Mac OS) and Nintendo Switch.
The idea for the game was first sparked by a House House employees posting a picture of a stock image goose on their company’s international communications. After a few months of discussing the idea that they had created for the game the developer decided to make the idea into an actual game with lots of potential fun. The developers took inspiration from both Super Mario 64 and the Hitman series and combined the stealth elements without the violence.
